Meet our founders
Jonathan Barnes APFS
Co-founder of Synthesis, Jonathan has worked in financial services since 2005 – in London and the South West.
Along the way, he’s seen the difference that making smart financial decisions can make. And whether partnering with businesses, high-net-worth individuals or families, he puts people first.
Viewing clients as people, not assets, was the spark that led to Jonathan and Samantha founding Synthesis. Today, he remains passionate about building trusted, long-term relationships – always keeping each client’s bespoke needs front of mind.
Samantha Skuse DipPFS
2008 saw Samantha embark on a career in financial services – a career that has taken her from Sydney to the South West. But rather than looking back, she is a future-focused financial planner.
Working closely with clients to help them reach their financial potential is at the heart of what she does at Synthesis. She specialises in building bespoke strategies for a wide range of people and businesses.
Seeing each client as an individual – with individual goals and needs – drove her to co-found a new wealth management firm that puts people centre stage.

Sharon Silcox
Sharon brings a wealth of experience to the Synthesis family. Having studied at Oxford University, Sharon’s career has involved senior corporate roles at Mars, Mondelez International (Kraft Foods) and most recently as the UK National Sales Manager for Wellness Pet Company. Sharon joins Synthesis to aid the development of the company and to provide ongoing strategic oversight, project management and marketing expertise.
